4-week Introduction to Yoga

Mondays, October 2-23, 2017, 7:00-8:15 pm

This 4-week series introduces basic poses and principles in a sequential way and is intended for healthy individuals with little to no yoga experience. Includes weekly handouts and a free post-series class. Students can expect to comfortably continue in Level 1 & 2 classes at Fig Garden Yoga upon completion of the series. Students can also begin in a Gentle Yoga or Level 1 class at any time.

Monthly Yoga for Scoliosis

Sundays, September 17 & October 22, 12:00-1:30 pm.
$30 pre-registered each class; limit of 8 students.

Learn to use yoga poses to minimize the effects of scoliosis. This class is open to students who have had a private session with Audrey for evaluation of their scoliosis. Please call or email for more info.

5-Week Yoga for Cancer Survivors

Wednesdays, 7:00-8:15 pm, August 23 - September 20, 2017.

This yoga class is for cancer survivors who are in treatment or post-treatment. It incorporates gentle movements and postures, guided imagery, meditation, and relaxation. No previous yoga experience necessary.

Lynn Quinn, RN, MSN, NC-BC, RYT is an oncology nurse, a board certified Health and Wellness Coach, and a Certified Yoga Teacher. She carries her skills from her many years of patient education and her passion for empowering others into her yoga instruction.

Janet MacLeod Weekend

We welcome back Janet MacLeod, Iyengar yoga teacher from San Francisco. Friday night is restorative poses and breath awareness. Saturday morning focus is shoulders, upper back and neck. Saturday afternoon focus is hips, lower back and SI joints. All levels welcome for all sessions.

Playing Around with Arm Balances

Do you remember hurling yourself into a cartwheel when you were a kid? or maybe walking on your hands? Practicing arm balances can give us back a little bit of that goofy freedom that comes when hands instead of feet support us. In this workshop, we'll explore the essentials of arm balances. While these poses do require some upper arm and back strength, it is core use, flexibility, and an understanding of leverage that helps one to perch upon one's hands. Are you ready to loosen up and levitate? Sign up for this workshop and we'll play around with arm balances.
